Single lancet in wooden frame. An Epiphany window in the Decorated style. The Adoration of the Magi: Jesus, Mary dressed in blue, Joseph and the Three Wise Men; the guiding star above, a vase of lilies below.
Inscription [from Matt. 2:11] below the figures: ‘THEY PRESENTED VNTO HIM GIFTS GOLD & FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH’

James Donaldson Bell died 02 April 1872, according to burial record & cemetery inscription; his widowed daughter Jane (d.1888) had been married to George Scott who died 09 May 1853 and was buried in the Abbey Churchyard with two of their infant children.
Stylistically almost certainly by George Joseph Baguley (1834–1915) of Newcastle.

1996: Protected with 6 mm polycarbonate by B & R Glazing Co Ltd in June 1996 [Faculty reg. no.4, Faculty no. 4762, granted 26 Jan. 1996]
2011/2012: All the polycarbonate protection was removed and wire guards fitted by H&R Developments, Caulkerbush, Dumfries in Oct–Nov 2011 and Jan 2012. [Faculty dated 26 July 2011]
“In affectionate remembrance of James Donaldson BELL who d. 2 Apr. 1872 aged 89 yrs. Also of Margaret his wife who d. 17 Mar. 1842 aged 48 yrs. interred in the Abbey Churchyard. Also Jane their daughter who d. 30 Apr. 1888 aged 74 yrs. relict of the late George SCOTT who is interred in the Abbey Churchyard.” [Inscription at Cemetery 27/27]
