North Transept Roof Bosses & Corbel Heads in Hexham Abbey

“In the south transept large carved bosses, 2 feet across, remain at all the intersections, but in the north transept all these have all been removed at some time when the roof was under repair, possibly in 1810, when the lead was stripped off. They have lately (1887) been replaced by new ones, similar to those in the south transept”[Hodges Monograph, 1888, p.42]
