Sankta Lucia

Sankta Lucia is a day that Swedes and others all over the world honour the legend of Saint Lucia. For many, many years Lucia has brought faith, hope, and a reason to believe in good things to come.

On Sankta Lucia Day the Abbey will light up with the beautiful procession and celebration in true Swedish style.

Featuring Hexham Abbey Girls Choir and Nordic Voices Choir, we will celebrate together this festival of light.
