Due on stage at 4.30pm and 8.20pm
The Cherry Pickers comprise 5 musicians who play Americana, Electric Folk, Country, Jazz and the Blues. They have been playing for 8 years and are based in Hexham. Between them they play double bass, fiddle, mandolin, concertina, harmonica, Cajun box, melodeon, accordion, bass, banjo and guitar, banjolele, steel uke, washboard, spoons, kazoo, tamborine and voices. They will perform their own material as well as doing arrangements of other songs.
They regularly play gigs in the Tyne Valley and have played at Maddy Prior’s Stepping Stones Festival in Cumbria, opened the Corbridge Festival and played at the Tall Ships at Blyth. We regularly play at the Red Cross Open Gardens and at public and private events. They have released 3CDs.
Band members are: Jane Ball, Jan Croot, Bob Diehl, Stephen Fry, Penny Grennan, with visits from Dave Venus.
